Henry Beaufort, now conscious, is half-disrobed and his grievous wounds, the arrow and an assortment of cuts and gashes, are being attended to by the closest thing to a surgeon that the army had. Lord Welles and Sir Richard Wydeville, the latter looking much more distraught, approach Henry and bow deeply to him. This made it all too clear to Henry that his father had indeed died, and that he had now become the Duke of Somerset.
He lets out a pensive sigh, and his two retainers pat him on the back, comforting him…they soon leave to attend to the catastrophe elsewhere, however.
